I Am (and) Happy

Here in County Clare a small group of us have been running a week of activities to mark the United Nation Day of Happiness.   This was the 3rd year, and we had 27 events about happiness, ranging from singing, gardening, meditation and yoga, mindfulness - and 3 movies.

The first of these is Roko Belic's documentary, Happy, exploring the research and insights of Positive Psychology and illustrating then with stories from around the world.   We started showing this in 2014, and keep on showing it.    Many people come back to see it again.

But this year we added I Am.   This was made by Tom Shadyak,  a young and very successful writer/director/producer (Ace Ventura, Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty, Nutty Professor, Patch Adams…) who gave up his Pasadena mansion, gave away hods of money and asked 'what really makes me happy, if it is no the squillions, success and things?  He explored this in I Am, and showing it this year blew people away.    He then produced (paid for)  Happy.

It is worth learning more about Tom and his journey, and especially worth watching both of those movies.   We also showed Patch Adams, after a Laughter Yoga session,  as they have much in common.

Sorry I have been unable to post stuff here for a (long) while.  No idea why!  But I will catchup with some movies soon.
