The New Yorker has just published a list of their 'best films of the 21st century.
I wonder what they mean by Best?
Most entertaining? Most challenging? Most memorable? Most moving? Most innovative? Most ‘I want to see this again and again’? I see that great Indian and Asian Directors are missing, but I don't get to see many of their movies either. In fact I
have only seen 10 of the New Yorker’s top 25.
There
Will Be Blood,
Spirited
Away,
The
Death of Mr Lazerescu,
Inside
Out
The

And I
heartily approve of them all. 10 of them make it into my final choices.
And the BFI also publishes its own mega-lists of critics favourites.
